PhoneBurner review

PhoneBurner is a good single-line power dialer with an unusually honest pricing model attached to an unusually high price. Every tier includes unlimited calling, so a rep who talks for four hours a day costs exactly the same as one who talks for twenty minutes. That is worth real money at genuine volume, and it is worth nothing at all to a team making forty dials a day.

Pricing runs $140, $165 and $183 per user per month on annual billing, or $165, $195 and $215 monthly. There is no free plan and no seat minimum.

Where the money goes

The dialer itself is fast and unfussy. Dispositions, voicemail drop and one-click follow-up email are all a single keystroke, and the transition between calls is genuinely instant, which is the thing that separates a good power dialer from a mediocre one. PhoneBurner has been doing this since long before the current AI dialer wave and it shows in the details.

The built-in CRM is capable enough that small desks run on it alone. It is not Close, but it holds leads, dispositions, notes and follow-up tasks without complaint.

The problem is what sits behind the tier walls. Live call monitoring needs Professional at $165. Inbound calling, SMS and, critically, call transcription with the AI note-taker all need Premium at $183. SMS is then capped at 1,000 outbound messages a month. A team that wants a full-featured seat is buying the $183 tier, which is $2,196 per rep per year.

What reviewers complain about

Cost is the top theme in Capterra reviews, which is what you would expect at this price. The more telling signal is Trustpilot at 3.3 out of 5, where the complaints concentrate on billing and cancellation friction rather than on the product. The mobile app is also noticeably weaker than the desktop experience.

Single line, at this price

PhoneBurner does not offer parallel dialing at any tier. In 2026 that is a real gap when Salesfinity sells five lines at $299 and CloudTalk sells ten as a €39 add-on. PhoneBurner's counter-argument is that single-line dialing produces cleaner conversations with no connect delay and no spam-flag exposure, and that argument is correct. It is just not worth $183 a seat on its own.

When to buy it anyway

Run the arithmetic on talk minutes. PhoneBurner's unlimited calling beats metered telephony above roughly 9,000 talk minutes per rep per month, which is about 150 hours. Very few B2B reps get near that. Consumer-facing desks with long conversations sometimes do, and for them the flat fee is genuinely the cheaper answer.

For everyone else, the comparison is stark. Five PhoneBurner Standard seats are $8,400 a year. Five DialSheet seats are two three-seat packs at $58 a month, or $696 a year, plus about $105 a month in Twilio charges at 150 dials per rep per day. That is roughly $1,956 all in against $8,400 for software alone.

PhoneBurner is overpriced because the market moved and the price stayed where it was. The product itself is good.
