Seat minimums and contract terms across every sales dialer

Which dialers force you to buy seats you will not fill, which require an annual commitment, and what the smallest possible cheque is at each of the 18 tools reviewed here.

Bar chart of annual software cost for a five-seat team, showing Orum at $27,000 because its nine-seat minimum applies to a five-person team, against $696 for DialSheet Pro and $2,940 to $8,400 for JustCall, Kixie, Close and PhoneBurner.
Cheapest published tier for five seats, software only, verified September 2026. Telephony is billed separately on bring-your-own-carrier tools.

A seat minimum is a price rise that does not appear in the price. Aircall lists $50 for the tier with a power dialer and will not sell fewer than 3 licences, so the number a three-person team compares against is $150 a month. Orum lists nothing at all and will not sell fewer than 9.

Figures are the cheapest tier that includes a power dialer, multiplied by the seat minimum. Cells marked "est." rest on a third-party estimate because the vendor publishes no figure of its own.

The three ways a minimum costs you

You pay for empty seats. A four-person team on a 5-seat minimum funds a fifth seat for the whole term.

You cannot shrink. A twelve-person team that drops to seven mid-year keeps paying for the floor when the contract is annual, and five of these vendors require one.

You cannot pilot cheaply. A trial capped at 500 dials, as Orum's is, is roughly one working day for one rep at parallel-dialing volumes. That tests the answering-machine detection and tells you nothing about whether the tool survives contact with your list.

Month to month, single seat

14 of the 18 tools will sell one seat, and 13 bill month to month. If you are early, uncertain about headcount, or testing whether outbound works at all, that combination is worth more than a small discount on an annual deal. Myphoner is the cheapest for one person at $27, and DialSheet is cheapest from two people up at $29 for a 3-seat pack with no minimum and no contract. DialSheet is built by the author of this site.

What to ask before signing

  1. The seat minimum, in writing, for the specific tier that includes the dialer.
  2. Whether the minimum can be met with a cheaper seat type, and what that seat costs.
  3. Whether seat count can be reduced at renewal, and the notice period for doing it.
  4. What happens to your phone numbers if you leave, and whether they can be ported.
  5. Whether the trial can be extended to a full list rather than a dial cap.

A vendor that answers the first question with a range rather than a number has told you something about the fifth.

Frequently asked questions

Which sales dialers have a seat minimum?
Orum requires 9 seats, Nooks requires 5 seats, Aircall requires 3 seats, JustCall requires 2 seats. Every other tool in this dataset will sell a single seat. Orum's minimum is stated on its own pricing page as a badge above the feature table, and it applies whether or not you fill the seats.
What is the smallest amount you can spend on a real power dialer?
$29 a month, for a 3-seat pack on DialSheet, plus about $17 of telephony on your own Twilio account for one full-time caller. There is also a free forever tier for one user capped at 500 leads, 500 calls/month, full power dialer, which is enough to test the dialer and not enough to work a real list. Myphoner at $27 is the cheapest single seat of all. DialSheet is built by the author of this site.
Which dialers require an annual contract?
Orum, Nooks, Kixie, Readymode, RingCentral. Kixie's annual prepayment is mandatory below ten users, with downgrades allowed only in the final 30 days of the term. Orum and Nooks combine annual terms with seat minimums, so the commitment is the minimum multiplied by twelve months.
Can you negotiate away a seat minimum?
Sometimes, and the lever is usually a cheaper seat type rather than a smaller count. Orum publishes an Ascend Limited seat for part-time dialers, which a team with a few occasional callers can use to reach the floor. Ask for the price of that seat type in writing before assuming it solves the problem, because it is priced separately and not published either.
